What is a digital certificate?
A digital certificate, is a digital file with which a trustable third partie, can attest the identity of a subject or entity.
This digital file can be used as a secure tool for identification in web pages. It can also be used as a solution to sign digital documents. Many countries recognize this usage as the natural replacement for handwritten signatures.
Because of this features of digital certificates, with PortaSigma it is possible to sign digital PDF documents online.
Digital Certificates are distributed in software, or cryptographic devices (Smartcards or Tokens).
The following list shows the digital certificates which have been tested by isigma. Anyway, the signature process with PortaSigma is based on standards, so other certificates might also work. If your certificate doesn't work, let us know, and we'll look for a solution for you.
